The objective of this program is to help poor but deserving students pursue their education by encouraging their employment during summer and/or Christmas vacations, through incentives granted to employers, allowing them to pay only sixty per centum (60%) of their salaries or wages and the forty per centum (40%) through education vouchers to be paid by the government granted by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Department of Labor & Employment (DOLE). This program is open for all qualified students and out of school youths at least fifteen (15) years old but not more than twenty four (24) years of age. Beneficiaries may be employed from twenty (20) to seventy eight (78) days and may be assigned as service crew, student assistant, clerk, office/administrative assistant, support staff, bookkeeper or plant nursery helper/assistant.
SPES is a program created by the government in order to help students purse their education through salaries and incentives and also to help students familiarize themselves in an actual job environment and help them to develop their skills. That is why a program like SPES must be implemented for the benefit of our students, our future leaders.
